THE FRIENDLY HOSTEL
We have free guided walks on Sunday with Luke going somewhere beautiful. If you want to make friends and have amazing scenery thrown in, come along on a hike with us. See the office on arrival. The Flying Fox Backpackers is located in a lovely old building, 400 metres from town. Established to cater for independent travellers and not large groups, it’s the perfect place to make new friends. A vibrant Hostel with No T.V. but log fires for warmth and different music instruments and games for atmosphere, people feel very relaxed at the Fox.
Extra’s and facilities
Free Breakfast, Free Wireless Internet, Maps and importantly assistance and detailed info for Hiking Trails. Book Exchange, DVD’s. Our FREE BREAKFAST includes lovely Italian bread, condiments, cereals. Tea and Coffee available all day, including Espresso.
The Flying Fox has many communal areas including a Chill Out Hut, BBQ area with courtyard, Hammock, great lounge room with log fire, kitchen and dining area. Our secure hostel has more areas to relax in than most big hostels. You will love our spacious, airy sun filled dorms with Sprung Mattresses, Doonas and heating provided.
Our double and twin rooms are heated and spacious. Linen and towels are provided in all private rooms.
We have mixed dorms and a female dorm on request. Please let us know your preference at the time of booking.
Katoomba town centre is a 3 minute walk and has a COLES and ALDI Supermarket. Unique shopping, galleries, coffee bars, restaurants, book shops, op shops, spa’s, and much more to enjoy on a non trekking day. Next door is Todarello’s Village Fruit Market with the best Fruit and Veg. You can also go for a refreshing swim in the Katoomba Sports and Aquatic centre or play a game of pool in the nearby hotel.
The Flying Fox is also a Wwoof Host, so if you are a member of Wwoof we would love to hear from you.
